Job summary

Northrop Grumman is seeking an Associate Engineer Software / Engineer Software. The position is in the Aeronautics sector with locations in San Diego, Palmdale, El Segundo, Redondo Beach, Oklahoma City, or Grand Sky, ND.

The role belongs to the Software Engineering directorate and involves designing, developing, and testing software systems while collaborating with hardware engineers. A government security clearance is required for start.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree by August 2026.
• Master’s degree or Bachelor’s with 2 years software experience by August 2026.
• Majored in CS, CE, EE or similar STEM field.
• Ability to obtain U.S. government security clearance.
• Program Special Access may be required.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, document, test and debug software applications and systems.
• Collaborate with equipment designers and hardware engineers.
• Determine user needs and analyze system capabilities.
• Prepare operating instructions and ensure software standards are met.
• Develop compilers/assemblers and operating systems as needed.
