Job Description
The System Offices is one of several system members within the Texas A&M University System representing one of the largest systems of higher education in the nation, with a network of 12 universities, a comprehensive health science center, nine state agencies, and the RELLIS Campus. Salary:
$3,657.34 - $5,833.33 per month commensurate with experience.
Job Description Summary:
Serves on software development teams to create and support web-based applications. Performs entry software development support functions. Assists as a developer of enterprise system applications and other software development projects
Responsibilities:
The associate Software Applications Developer will serve on software development teams to create and support web-based applications. Performs entry software development support functions.
Assists clients and co-workers to define application requirements. Identifies programming and output needs.
Assists in and verifies preliminary design and output, and recommends technical and procedural design for new or revised applications including flow charts, system specifications, programming guidelines, and code review.
Assists in reviewing, modifying, and writing program code and job control language.
Assists in writing documentation of system procedures and guidelines for application users as well as for programs and program modifications.
Assists with testing of complex programs, program modifications, or applications.
Answers questions and provides technical assistance and training to application users. Resolves problems by reviewing and analyzing software documentation and production outputs to identify causes, solutions, and make appropriate referrals.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Education and Experience:
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
-Knowledge of web site development with HTML, CSS and JavaScript.
-Knowledge of SQL Server or other relational databases.
-Knowledge of object-oriented development (e.g. C#, ASP.NET or PHP) applied in a web environment.
-Occasional work outside of normal office hours/weekends
-Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others.
Preferred Qualifications:
-Experience with web site development with HTML, CSS and JavaScript.
-Experience with SQL Server or other relational databases.
-Experience with object-oriented development (e.g. C#, ASP.NET or PHP) applied in a web environment.
