Job summary

Sweet Apparel Inc. in Midtown Manhattan is seeking a Fashion Designer with a focus on Socks to join our fast-paced team.

You will work on the full design cycle, sketching flats in Illustrator, developing CADS, and producing precise tech packs for production. With 1+ years in sock/hosiery design, you will collaborate across design, production, and sales to stay ahead of market trends, meet calendar deadlines, and ensure quality throughout lab dips to top samples.

Qualifications

• Degree in Fashion Design.
• 1+ years experience in Sock / Hosiery Design.
• Knowledge of sock/hosiery design and construction.
• Proficiency in Illustrator, Photoshop and Excel.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Design Director on all facets of the product design cycle for Socks.
• Sketch accurate design flats in Adobe Illustrator.
• Develop new ideas and create design CADS for production.
• Create detailed tech packs for production teams.
• Coordinate with factories on lab dips, strike offs, pre-production and TOP samples.
• Conduct market and trend research to stay current with fashion trends.
• Maintain calendars to meet deadlines and track sample status.
• Support records and samples organization; build cross-functional relationships.

Sweet Apparel Inc. is a fast-paced apparel manufacturer specializing in quick turn production for juniors, women’s, men’s, and kids’ clothing. The company is recognized for high standards in design, quality, and timely delivery to retail partners and brands. Teams collaborate closely across design, production, and operations to bring fashion-forward products to market efficiently.

Please note: this is an on-site position in Midtown Manhattan where we work in office 5 days/week!

Responsibilities

• Work with Design Director on all facets of the product design cycle for Socks
• Ability to sketch accurate design flats on Adobe Illustrator
• Develop and design new ideas and create visually pleasing design CADS
• Create accurate and detailed tech packs.
• Daily review and follow up with factories on garment life cycle, from lab dips & strike offs to Pre-Production and TOP samples.
• Proactive market and trend research to always be on top of market trends.
• Ability to adhere to calendar to ensure deadlines are met
• Track and manage sample status
• Assist with records and samples organized
• Build collaborative relationships with cross-functional teams including production, and sales.

Qualifications
