Job summary

MITRE is seeking an Associate Signal Processing Engineer to advance RF capabilities for U.S. Government sponsors.

You will model and simulate electromagnetic environments and develop resilient communications and sensing systems using signal processing and machine learning techniques. The ideal candidate has strong analytical skills, experience in digital signal processing, and knowledge of RF receiver design.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or related discipline.
• Proficient with MATLAB, Python, or C++ or other tools or languages.
• Strong analytical skills.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a US Top Secret security clearance.
• Experience in at least one: Signal processing, Digital communications, Receiver design, ML/AI, System performance analysis, RF system modeling.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Experience delivering technical reports, presentations, and/or code.

Responsibilities

• Using technical knowledge of communications and signal processing principles to help solve problems across various application areas.
• Designing models and simulations or lab tests to evaluate technical solutions.
• Define appropriate evaluation methodologies to evaluate the compatibility of communication, radar, and navigation systems operating in shared or adjacent frequency bands.
• Assess the operational impacts of interference on system performance across current and emerging technologies (e.g., commercial 6G on government systems).
• Mentoring and staff development of junior engineers and continued technical growth.
• Comprehension of standards documents to inform M&S decision‑making.
• Leading the development and contributing to the develop of project proposals for sponsors and internal research and development (IR&D).
• Drive research areas, investigate novel solutions, and distill information for varying audiences across internal and external sponsors.
