Job summary

Simpson Strong-Tie in Gallatin, TN is seeking a reliable Shipper/Receiver to manage shipping, receiving, and stocking finished goods to fulfill customer orders. The role operates a 7:00 am to 3:30 pm Monday–Friday schedule, with overtime as needed.

You will complete shipments using ERP/tablet, prepare pallets, tag and store inventory, and ensure accuracy of packing lists, bills of lading, and shipping labels while maintaining safety and a clean work area.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Powered Industrial Truck Certification required (will certify at hire).
• 1 year of warehouse, logistics, and/or shipping experience preferred.
• Operate forklift, reach truck, order picker, and electric pallet jack.
• Strong safety focus and ability to work independently.
• Reliable, punctual attendance.
• Strong reading and comprehension for safety rules and procedures.

Responsibilities

YOU As a Shipper/Receiver, you will be responsible for shipping, receiving, and stocking finished goods needed to fulfill customer orders. This position works a Monday - Friday shift – 7:00 am to 3:30 pm, overtime as needed.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING (% of Time)

• Complete shipments using ERP system and/or tablet. (70%)
• Pull, package, and palletize products for shipment.
• Ensure incoming and outgoing shipments meet packaging, customer, and quality standards.
• Receive, stock, and rotate product.
• Identify, tag, store and locate finished inventory. (70%)
• Create and apply documents, such as shipping labels, packing list, and bills of lading for each pallet/shipment. (10%)

DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
• Simpson Strong-Tie Powered Industrial Truck Certification required (will certify at hire)
• 1 year of warehouse, logistics, and/or shipping experience preferred.
• Equipment: Operate forklift, reach truck, order picker, and electric pallet jack.
• Safety: Ability to prioritize safety by demonstrating safe work practices and promoting a safe work environment.
• Mathematical Reasoning: Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiple and divide with 10’s and 100’s.
• Ability to Work Independently: Follow both written and oral instructions, including safety guidelines, work instructions, and company policies.
• Attendance: Able to consistently demonstrate reliable, punctual attendance in accordance with our attendance policy.
• Communication Skills: Speak in the most effective way to relay information to all departments and at all levels within the organization. Listen and ask questions to ensure understanding.

This role operates large equipment and needs to constantly position self to maintain the operation of equipment.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee must possess the ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials and objects weighing up to 50 pounds, and heavier weights with proper equipment.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Regularly work around moving mechanical parts. The noise level is loud. The job may risk exposure to dust, heat and/or cold, wet or humid conditions.

This job does not require travel.

WORK STATUS & LOCATION

This full-time, non-exempt position is in Gallatin, TN.

RELOCATION Relocation is not available for this position.

PAY

$23.00 - $31.97 / hour
