Job summary

KBR is seeking an Associate Security Specialist to support daily security operations in secure facilities. The role focuses on implementing procedures to meet DoD, IC, and customer requirements, with on-site work and minimal travel.

The ideal candidate has 0–3 years in security administration, strong organizational and communication skills, and proficiency with DISS, SIMS, and JADE systems. Top Secret clearance is required.

Qualifications

• Active Top Secret clearance required.
• 0–3 years of experience in security administration or related fields.
• Ability to interface with all levels of management, employees, customers, and government personnel.
• Prior experience with security systems and document control is a plus.
• Strong organizational, communication, and analytical skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams).

Responsibilities

• Coordinate security logistics for customer engagements and onsite meetings.
• Assist in administering SCIF and SAPF security programs.
• Control access to classified areas and verify clearances.
• Conduct visitor processing and escort duties for approved visitors/contractors.
• Maintain classified document accountability records and document control.
• Perform end-of-day security checks and inspections.
• Support secure storage, transmission, and destruction of classified information.
• Assist with personnel security processes including clearance verification.
• Maintain security databases, logs, and required records.
• Participate in self-inspections, audits, and internal security investigations.
• Support security education, awareness, and training initiatives.
• Report incidents and suspicious activity per procedures.
• Coordinate with government security representatives and program staff as needed.

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Associate Security Specialist to support daily security operations within secure facilities. The successful candidate will assist with implementing and maintaining security procedures that ensure compliance with Department of Defense (DoD), Intelligence Community (IC), and customer security requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Coordinate security logistics for customer engagements and onsite meetings.
• Engage regularly with internal and external personnel via in-person and written communication channels.
• Support the day-to-day administration of SCIF and SAPF security programs.
• Assist in controlling access to classified areas and verifying personnel clearances and access authorizations.
• Conduct visitor processing and escort duties for approved visitors and contractors.
• Maintain classified document accountability records and assist with document control activities.
• Perform end-of-day security checks and inspections.
• Support secure storage, transmission, destruction, and handling of classified information.
• Assist with personnel security processes, including clearance verification and access requests.
• Maintain security databases, logs, and required records.
• Participate in self-inspections, audits, compliance reviews and internal security investigations.
• Support security education, awareness, and training initiatives.
• Report security incidents, suspicious activity, and potential security violations in accordance with established procedures.
• Coordinate with government security representatives, facility managers, program personnel as needed and internal staff, as needed.

Required Qualifications:

• Security clearance requirement: Active Top Secret clearance
• 0-3 years of experience in security administration, military security, industrial security, law enforcement, intelligence support, or related fields.
• Ability to effectively interface with all levels of management, employees, customers, and government personnel.
• Ability to prioritize, self-manage, and execute multiple competing priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
• Entry level knowledge of security systems such as DISS, SIMS, and JADE
• Self starter, ability to work independently or with a team
• Exceptional organizational, communication, and analytical skills.
• Strong written, verbal, organizational, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Basic understanding of classified information handling principles.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Current active TS/SCI security clearance.

• Familiarity with personnel, physical and AIS requirements among the Intelligence Community and DoD

• Familiarity with personnel security requirements for DoD and Intelligence Community

• Experience supporting DoD, Intelligence Community, or contractor security programs.
