Job summary

IBM Consulting is seeking an Associate Security Consultant in the United States (Texas). You will work on real client engagements alongside experienced consultants, building expertise in IAM, cloud security, threat management, and security operations.

You will learn to design and implement security solutions across applications, users, systems, and data, with exposure to modern security platforms and automation tools. Travel up to 100% may be required.

Qualifications

• Familiarity with network architecture and security principles
• Exposure to cybersecurity domains such as Threat Management, Security Operations, Data and Application Security, IAM, Cloud and Infrastructure Security, or GRC
• Proficiency in programming or scripting languages (Python, C/C++, Go/Bash, or C#) with exposure to testing, automation, or secure development practices
• Experience with security tools related to vulnerability scanning, monitoring, firewalls, IDS/IPS, encryption, or network analysis
• Understanding of SIEM, SOAR, EDR, threat detection and incident response workflows
• Willingness to travel up to 100%

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with client teams to gather business and technical requirements and support design of security solutions
• Contribute to Enterprise-wide Access Management initiatives (authentication, authorization, identity, secure access)
• Participate in phases of client engagements: requirements, design, implementation, testing, and operations
• Assist with security architecture, application security, cloud security, monitoring, and threat management activities
• Work with modern cybersecurity platforms and AI-enhanced security operations technologies
• Build knowledge across platforms, architectures, security domains, and consulting methodologies
