Job summary

Baker Group seeks an Associate Security Analyst-IT to support security systems, protect data, and maintain security standards. The role requires monitoring alerts, researching threats, and assisting in security operations across the organization.

Responsibilities include configuring security tools, enforcing policies, and assisting with IT support as needed. A two-year degree path and at least one year in security/IT are expected.

Qualifications

• Pursuing or completed two-year degree in computer science, cybersecurity, information systems or related field.
• At least one year of experience in information security, IT operations or related field.
• Foundational understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, firewalls, VPN).
• Basic familiarity with security concepts: malware, phishing, vulnerability management, access control.

• Defend Baker Group systems against unauthorized access, modification and/or destruction.
• Configure and support security tools (firewalls, anti-malware, patch management).
• Implement and maintain network security policies, access control and data safeguards.
• Train employees in security awareness and procedures.
• Provide technical security advice and guidance.
• Review incident response and disaster recovery plans for gaps.
• Assist with general IT support as needed.

Essential Functions And Responsibilities

The following duties are typical for this job. These are not to be constructed as exclusive or all inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned.

• Defend Baker Group systems against unauthorized access, modification and/or destruction
• Configure/support security tools (firewalls, anti-malware software, patch management systems, etc.)
• Implement and maintain network security policies, application security, access control and corporate data safeguards
• Train fellow employees in security awareness and procedures
• Provide technical security advice
• Review Baker Group’s incident response and disaster recovery plans for gaps or need for update
• Assist with general IT support on a needed basis

Minimum Education & Experience Required To Perform Essential Functions

• Pursuing or completion of a two-year degree in computer science, cybersecurity, information systems or a related field.
• One year experience in information security, IT operations, or related field (internship and lab/home-lab experience considered)
• Foundational understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, firewalls, VPN)
• Basic familiarity with security concepts: malware, phishing, vulnerability management, access control
