  • Experience in food or consumer products industry desired.
  • Leadership experience and understanding of commercialization/margin improvement across packaging materials.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement new package launches from concept to commercialization (technical drawing, material specifications, artwork & graphics) in a fast-paced environment.
  • Optimize packaging quality.
  • Support (high complex projects) / lead (lower complex projects) as a proactive technical resource.
  • Collaborate with business teams to implement sustainability, brand maintenance and cost optimization.
  • Develop and manage deliverables to achieve R&D timelines.
  • Build and lead primary packaging specifications and related databases.
  • Design and conduct plant trials with various products and packaging formats.
  • Develop secondary/tertiary packaging: corrugated cases and pallet/load standards.
  • Write technical trial reports.
  • Ability to troubleshoot.

Associate Scientist, R&D - Packaging Development

The Kraft Heinz Research & Development team is seeking an Associate Scientist – Packaging Development.This position provides opportunities to support and lead packaging development initiatives forproductivity andbrandmaintenance of packaging in one of our North American R&D business units. Our project opportunities allow individuals todeveloptheir technical leadership and technical packaging skills through direct interaction with cross-functional teams and introducehigh-qualitypackagingto the consumer-packaged goods market.

**Job Duties:**

  • Develop and implement new package launches from concept to commercialization (technical drawing, material specifications, artwork & graphics)in afar-pacedenvironment

Minimum Qualifications:

  • B.S. degree in Packaging, Engineering, Material Science,ChemicalEngineeringor adjacent technical discipline preferred

  • Desired experience in the food or consumer products industry

  • Shown leadership and understanding of commercialization and/or margin improvement programs across multiplepackaging material disciplines

  • Willing to travel up to 30% pending business needs

  • Ability to work in office, lab, and manufacturing environments

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Highly motivated with a sense of urgency

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize sophisticated projects and routine job functions

  • Demonstrate awillingness to learn

  • Willingness to travel up to 30% visiting internal plants, co-manufacturers, and suppliers.

New Hire Base Salary Range:

$68,900.00 - $86,100.00

Bonus: This position is eligible for a performance-based bonus as provided by the plan terms and governing documents.

The compensation offered will take into account internal equity and may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors
