Job Summary:

The Associate Scientist, R&D - Biological Sciences supports research and development activities by planning and executing laboratory experiments, maintaining accurate scientific documentation, analyzing results, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to advance product development and innovation. This role contributes to research projects from concept through commercialization and supports continuous improvement initiatives across assigned scientific disciplines. Assignment includes work in biological sciences, but may include work in other R&D functions depending on skillset of candidate, and future business needs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct laboratory experiments following established protocols and scientific methodologies.
  • Design, execute, and document routine research studies under the guidance of senior scientists and project leaders.
  • Analyze experimental data and communicate findings through written reports and presentations.
  • Maintain accurate, organized, and compliant laboratory notebooks and technical documentation.
  • Support new product development, product optimization, technology transfer, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory equipment within assigned area of expertise.
  • Prepare laboratory materials, reagents, samples, and test articles as required.
  • Monitor, maintain, and organize laboratory inventory, supplies, and equipment.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Research & Development, Manufacturing, Quality, Regulatory, and Operations to support project objectives.
  • Manage multiple projects and priorities while meeting established timelines.
  • Stay current with scientific literature, emerging technologies, and industry best practices.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's in Biology, Cell Biology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Biomedical Sciences, Chemistry, or another related scientific discipline.
  • 1–3 years of laboratory or research experience in an academic or industry setting.
  • Some experience with mammalian cell culture(s).
  • Strong aseptic technique.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience conducting laboratory experiments and maintaining detailed scientific documentation.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in Biology, Cell biology, Molecular biology, Biochemistry, Biomedical Sciences, Chemistry, or related fields.

  • Laboratory environment with routine exposure to chemicals, biological materials, laboratory equipment, and personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.
  • May require occasional travel between facilities or to support business needs.
