The Associate Scientist within the Molecular Biology Research team will join a tight-knit and cross-functional team of scientists who are tasked with developing and advancing Natera's oncology product portfolio. The candidate will work in a fast-paced environment to ensure the highest quality clinical assays are developed and launched. Responsibilities include independently executing in-lab efforts manually and using automated liquid handlers to develop non-invasive nucleic acid based diagnostic tests, assisting with experiment design and planning, performing basic data analysis and documenting results, communicating results across cross-functional teams, documenting results in reports and presentations, and contributing insights towards experimental findings and troubleshooting laboratory processes and protocols. Qualifications include a degree in molecular biology, biochemistry, or a closely related field with varying levels of industry experience depending on degree level. Required skills include extensive hands-on experience with nucleic acid techniques, expertise in Next Generation Sequencing and non-invasive assay development (highly desirable), experience with automated liquid handlers (preferred), data analysis skills with Excel or similar software, and strong analytical, problem solving, and cross-functional communication skills.
