Job summary

JobDiva, Inc. seeks an Associate Scientist for Process Development in Cambridge, MA. The role focuses on supporting analytical method development, protein-based biologics characterization, and process development activities within the Pivotal Attribute Sciences team.

You will work with late-stage therapies, applying advanced analytical techniques and ensuring readiness for regulatory filings while collaborating with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience in industry laboratories (with Master's degree) or 4 years of scientific/pharmaceutical experience (with Bachelor's degree).
• Expert-level experience troubleshooting and maintaining HPLC/UPLC instruments.
• Experience in analytical chemistry or biochemistry in a scientific or pharmaceutical setting.

Responsibilities

• Work in a cross-functional team environment to advance therapies in late-stage development.
• Analyze late-stage protein-based therapies with analytical techniques such as capillary electrophoresis, liquid chromatography, and compendial methods (pH, appearance, turbidity).
• Support development, optimization, and troubleshooting of analytical methods.
• Prepare electronic notebook records of data, author technical protocols and reports, present results at team meetings, and support regulatory filings as needed.
• Troubleshoot and maintain HPLC/UPLC instruments with expert-level capability.
• Utilize Empower software for instrument method development and field creation.

In the role of Associate Scientist, you will be responsible for supporting the development of analytical methods, the characterization of protein-based biologic therapies, and process development activities. Key Responsibilities

• Work in a cross-functional team environment to advance therapies in late-stage development.
• Analyze late-stage protein-based therapies with advanced analytical techniques such as capillary electrophoresis, liquid chromatography, as well as compendial methods, such as pH, Visual Appearance, turbidity, etc.
• Support the development, optimization, and troubleshooting of analytical methods.
• Other duties include data analysis, preparation of electronic notebook records of experimental data, authorship of technical protocols and reports, presentation of results at team meetings, and support for regulatory filings as needed.
• Expert-level experience troubleshooting and maintaining HPLC/UPLC instruments.
• Expertise in the use of Empower software (e.g., custom field creation, writing instrument methods, etc.)

Required Skills

• Degree in chemistry (Master's 2 years, Bachelor's 4 years), biochemistry, pharmaceutical sciences, or related discipline
• Excellent laboratory skills with 2 years of experience in industry laboratories
• Analytical chemistry/biochemistry experience
• Experience working in the biopharmaceutical industry

Preferred Skills

• GMP experience preferred

Education Requirements

• Master's degree and 2 years of scientific/pharmaceutical experience; OR
• Bachelor's degree and 4 years of scientific/pharmaceutical experience; OR
• Associate's degree and 4 years of experience; OR
• High school diploma / GED and 6 years of experience

Required Experience

• Minimum 2 years of experience in industry laboratories (with Master's degree) or 4 years of scientific/pharmaceutical experience (with Bachelor's degree)
• Expert-level experience troubleshooting and maintaining HPLC/UPLC instruments
• Experience in analytical chemistry or biochemistry in a scientific or pharmaceutical setting

Nice-to-Have Experience

• Broader analytical skills beyond HPLC (e.g., capillary electrophoresis, additional chromatographic or compendial techniques)
• Experience in the biopharmaceutical industry
