Job summary

Kelly Outsourcing Consulting Group seeks an Associate Scientist in Newark, DE to support herbicide discovery and development in greenhouse and growth chamber environments. The role emphasizes data collection, protocol adherence, and collaboration with researchers.

The position requires a BS in Plant Science or related field, with preferred MS, and hands-on greenhouse laboratory experience. Schedule is Mon-Fri on 1st shift with competitive compensation and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• BS in Plant Science, Agronomy, Weed Science, Horticulture or related field.
• Basic understanding of agriculture, food production, crop protection.
• Knowledge of weed identification, herbicide application, evaluation (preferred).
• Familiarity with regulatory and compliance requirements in the research or laboratory environment.

Responsibilities

• Support researchers in herbicide discovery, development, and product support studies.
• Perform plant propagation, sorting, staging, and preparation of experimental units.
• Maintain healthy plant populations and conduct daily care in greenhouse/growth chamber studies.
• Assist with herbicide applications using specialized spray equipment and protocols.
• Implement screening and bioassay protocols to evaluate herbicide efficacy and crop tolerance.
• Collect, record, analyze, and summarize biological data; prepare reports for decisions.
• Collaborate with researchers and cross-functional teams to manage timelines and resources.
• Ensure GLP compliance and safety standards in all activities.
