Role Overview

Under moderate supervision, the Associate Scientist – Manufacturing Histology performs laboratory operations including slide manufacturing, H&E staining, IHC staining, and related tasks in accordance with SOPs and regulatory standards. Responsibilities include:

• Perform slide manufacturing, H&E staining, IHC staining, and other activities for block qualification with accuracy and thoroughness.
• Perform basic troubleshooting on laboratory equipment.
• Manufacture, label, and package products following SOPs.
• Utilize ERP systems and approved documents to document manufacturing processes accurately.
• Conduct laboratory equipment maintenance and cleaning; maintain relevant records.
• Escalate non-conformances, participate in investigations as needed.
• Assist with updates to laboratory and manufacturing documents.
• Adhere to regulatory and site-specific standards such as MDSAP, ISO 13485, IVDR, and the site Quality Manual.

Candidate Profile

Minimum Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED with 4+ years of Histology lab experience.
• Associate’s degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biology, or related field with 2+ years of Histology experience.

OR

• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biology, or related field with 1+ year experience with laboratory equipment.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Knowledge of ISO 13485 and industry standards.
• Strong computer skills, including MS 365.
• Excellent organizational and attention to detail.
• Effective time and project management skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, including report writing and batch record documentation.
• Experience with SAP, SAP NEXT, or similar ERP systems.
• 1+ years of experience in FDA-regulated biotech or pharmaceutical environments.
• Experience using a microtome and performing IHC methods.
