Job summary

Sanofi in Waltham, MA is seeking an Associate Scientist to support the Drug Product Platform and Early Clinical Development. You will contribute to LNP formulation development, perform in-process characterization, and collaborate with senior scientists to advance new formulations toward CMC development.

Qualifications

• BS in a pharmaceutical sciences or related field with at least 2 years in formulation, process development, or lab research.
• MS preferred; prior experience in pharmaceutical/biotech formulation is a plus.
• Familiarity with LNP production or analytical characterization is helpful.

Responsibilities

• Support formulation optimization and/or process understanding of LNP formulation and production under guidance from senior scientists.
• Assist Research team in transferring new LNP formulations into CMC development.
• Conduct small-scale multi-component LNP formulation experiments for developability assessments.
• Contribute to compilation of Developability packages for new LNP formulations.
• Assist in developing initial formulation processes for new LNP formulations.
• Perform in-process drug product characterization under supervision.
• Perform routine and some complex analytical methods to characterize new formulations and troubleshoot as needed.
• Coordinate with Analytical Sciences on LNP characterization analysis.
• Assist Drug Product team in troubleshooting technical, formulation, and processing issues.
• Document development study setup, results, and conclusions in an electronic lab notebook.
• Tabulate and assist in analyzing in-process and post-process characterization data.
• Summarize and present study progress in team meetings.
• Assist in setting up and installing new characterization and process equipment in new laboratories.
