Job summary

RayzeBio, a RayzeBio organization closely tied to Bristol Myers Squibb, seeks an Associate Scientist for its Indianapolis facility to advance radiochemical analytics and QC in drug production.

You will perform GMP radiolabeling, maintain lab safety, and support development from R&D through GMP production while coordinating with vendors and cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

  • BS with 0-3 years in Radiochemistry or related field.
  • Experience with radioactive materials is preferred.
  • Familiar with GMP and GDP practices.

Responsibilities

  • Execute routine equipment checks and maintenance per GDP/GMP guidelines.
  • Independently perform routine GMP radiolabeling and clinical site sample preparation.
  • Support general laboratory organization and cleanliness.
  • Support development work for RayzeBio's drug product pipeline and programs.
  • Manage third party vendors in support of analytical and laboratory equipment.
  • Support activities related to hot cells, gloveboxes, and production cleanrooms.
  • Ensure compliance with NRC, EH&S and US/EU GMP regulatory guidelines as required.

Summary

The Associate Scientist will be responsible for performing routine operations in support of the development laboratory at RayzeBio's Indianapolis manufacturing facility. The development team performs both radiochemical and analytical methods for the drug product, quality control, and isotope supply programs at RayzeBio. This position will support a wide range of analytical and radiochemical disciplines in the advancement of novel targeted radiopharmaceuticals from the R&D phase through clinical development to GMP commercial radiopharmaceutical production. Responsibilities may include routine equipment checks and maintenance, GMP operations & QC support, ordering materials and inventory, the onboarding of new technologies and equipment, and future expansion projects.

Job Responsibilities
  • Execute routine equipment checks and maintenance following all applicable GDP/GMP guidelines .
  • Independently perform routine GMP radiolabeling and clinical site sample preparation .
  • Support general laboratory organization and cleanliness .
  • Support scientific team performing development work related to RayzeBio's drug product pipeline and programs.
  • Manage third party vendors in support of analytical and laboratory equipment.
  • Support activities related to hot cells, gloveboxes, and production cleanrooms.
  • Ensure compliance with NRC, EH&S and US/EU GMP regulatory guidelines as required.
  • Less than 5% of travel required
Education and Experience
  • BS with 0-3 years of experience in Radiochemistry or other scientific equivalent work experience.
  • Experience working with radioactive materials desired.
  • Experience with Good Manufacturing Processes (GMP) and Good Documentation Practices (GDP) is desired.
Skills and Qualifications
  • Experience working in a laboratory environment and following safety and PEE requirements
  • Experience with any or all of the following analytical methods (HPLC, pH, GC, gamma spec, alpha spec, ICP-MS, ICP-OES, Radio-TLC, etc.)
  • Experience working with radioactive materials, alpha emitters highly desirable.
  • Excellent professional ethics, integrity, and ability to maintain confidential information.
  • Able to work both independently and in a group setting.
  • Uses AI tools to enhance individual productivity and quality of work
Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and distance vision.

This is a position that requires working in a laboratory environment, protective clothing, gloves, and safety glasses are required while working in a laboratory environment with radioactive materials .

Work Environment

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Compensation Overview:

Indianapolis - RayzeBio - IN: $34.05 - $41.26per hour

The starting compensation range(s) for this role are listed above for a full-time employee (FTE) basis. Additional incentive cash and stock opportunities (based on eligibility) may be available. The starting pay rate takes into account characteristics of the job, such as required skills, where the job is performed, the employee's work schedule, job-related knowledge, and experience. Final, individual compensation will be decided based on demonstrated experience.
