Job summary

A-TEK Inc. is seeking a Molecular Testing Technician to perform non-research molecular testing of samples for potential biological threat agents at our Phoenix laboratory.

The role requires conducting PCR-based assays, maintaining chain-of-custody, and preparing detailed reports while ensuring safe operation of equipment. The candidate will perform routine calibrations, adhere to safety protocols, and participate in a demanding 7-day-per-week schedule, including weekends and holidays as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in microbiology, molecular biology, or related biological science field.
• Minimum one year of laboratory bench experience with PCR, aseptic techniques, and biological assays.
• Laboratory training that is assigned or accompanies a course does not meet the required experience.

Role Summary

The incumbent ensures all operational, QA, and other sample types are processed while maintaining chain of custody, prepares reports, answers questions, troubleshoots, and recommends inclusion in comprehensive reports, and operates and maintains equipment safely, performing routine calibrations and adjustments.
