Job summary

OmniAb seeks an Associate Scientist to design, execute, and analyze label-free biosensor assays for antibodies and peptides from OmniAb’s repertoires using SPR and BLI. You will work with cross-functional teams to prioritize clones for advancement and contribute to high-quality binding data and publications.

The role reports to the SVP, Exploratory Research, based in Emeryville with regular 8am-5pm PT hours. Strong background in biophysics and protein science is essential.

Qualifications

• PhD in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Biophysics, or related field with 0+ years of experience.
• Alternatively, MSc with 7+ years or BSc with 10+ years of experience.
• Expertise in protein biochemistry and biomolecular interaction analysis.
• Familiarity with dose-dependent binding assays and interpreting affinity.

Responsibilities

• Design, execute, and analyze SPR- and BLI-based assays for antibodies and peptides.
• Develop kinetic and epitope binning assays to aid clone selection.
• Collaborate with discovery teams to interpret binding data and guide decisions.
• Document protocols, SOPs, and experimental reports with high quality.
• Present findings in internal meetings and scientific presentations.
