Job summary

OmniAb, Inc. seeks an Associate Scientist to design, execute, and analyze label-free biosensor assays (SPR/BLI) for antibodies and peptides derived from OmniAb's repertoires.

You will work in the Advanced Characterization Team in Emeryville, collaborating with Screening, Molecular Biology, Bioinformatics, and Bioassays to prioritize clones for advancement. The role focuses on kinetic analyses, epitope binning, and data interpretation, reporting to the SVP, Exploratory Research.

Qualifications

• PhD or MSc with relevant experience in protein sciences or biophysics.
• Experience with biomolecular interaction analysis and biophysical assays.
• Familiarity with kinetic data interpretation (Langmuir 1:1 model).
• Proficient in SPR and/or BLI techniques and data visualization.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, cross-functional team.

Responsibilities

• Design, execute, and analyze SPR- and BLI-based assays for antibodies and peptides.
• Develop kinetic and epitope binning assays to aid clone selection.
• Collaborate with discovery teams to interpret data and guide decisions.
• Contribute to experimental design, planning, and troubleshooting with minimal supervision.
• Maintain documentation and present findings in internal and external venues.
• Participate in proof-of-concept studies with cutting-edge technologies.
• Perform QC assays (SDS-PAGE, analytical SEC) and assist with purification as needed.
