Job summary

McKissack & McKissack in Los Angeles, CA, is seeking an Associate Scheduler with a focus on construction scheduling for educational facilities and public works projects. You will review baseline schedules, update analyses, and create visualizations to support project management.

Strong communication and organizational skills are essential for this role. The position requires 3 years of relevant experience, proficiency in Primavera P6 and MS Office, and a bachelor’s degree in a related field.

Qualifications

  • 3 years of full‑time paid professional experience responsible for scheduling for an owner or general contractor
  • Proficiency in Primavera and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to read and interpret architectural plans, drawings, and contract specifications
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to build effective working relationships with project teams and department staff
  • Superior organizational and planning skills
  • Bachelor’s degree from a recognized college or university in architecture, engineering, construction management, construction engineering, or a related field

Responsibilities

  • Review contractor P6 initial baseline construction schedules; identify missing scope, logic, or milestones; analyze the critical path; review required cost loading; and provide written technical schedule review comments using LAUSD structured templates.
  • Review contractor P6 monthly schedule updates and provide written schedule review comments documenting milestone slippage, critical path activity slippage, and overall schedule analysis using LAUSD structured templates.
  • Create activity schedule filters, layouts, and bar charts using Primavera P6 schedule software to assist the project management team in analyzing critical path construction schedule issues.
  • Perform QA/QC on contractor schedule submittals for conformance with contract scope and terms, including P6 program schedules, and validate logic ties for conformance with scheduling guidelines across project types.
  • Ensure proper use of program‑level standard codes, layouts, and reports necessary to maintain data integrity.
  • Create Earned Value Curves based on LAUSD EVA template guidelines.
  • Prepare reports as needed and assist scheduling management with project reporting as necessary

  • Proficiency in the latest version of Primavera and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to read and interpret architectural plans, drawings, and contract specifications to gain insight into the required scope of work for multiple school construction projects.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to build effective working relationships with project teams and department staff.
  • Superior organizational and planning skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree from a recognized college or university in architecture, engineering, construction management, construction engineering, or a related field.
Compensation

Salary range: $118,000 to $125,000/yearly (dependent on years of experience, competency, travel requirements)
