Overview

Kemin Human Nutrition and Health is seeking an Associate Sales Manager to join the team. If you have business-to-business sales experience in health ingredients, dietary supplements, or food and beverage companies, this is a perfect opportunity for you!

The Associate Sales Manager is responsible for all sales and services offered to assigned Kemin customers within your territory. The role involves achieving the budgeted sales, margin, operating income, and sales expense targets for the assigned accounts.

You will be part of Kemin Health America's sales team, reporting to the Associate Director of Sales. This position has no direct reports.

After an onboarding period at our headquarters in Des Moines, Iowa, the role is expected to be home-based in or near your territory. Travel to visit customers, attend trade shows, conferences, and team events is required.

Responsibilities
  • Lead expansion and sales growth in the East Coast USA territory, managing existing accounts and developing new ones.
  • Sell the complete Kemin Health product portfolio through technical sales presentations, aiming for about 20 customer meetings monthly.
  • Achieve sales and gross margin growth aligned with annual targets.
  • Develop customer plans and build a sales pipeline.
  • Coordinate with staff and other account managers to meet customer needs and objectives.
  • Manage sales administration, including forecasting, reporting, and database maintenance.
  • Collaborate with other departments to meet customer quality and turnaround time expectations.
  • Build relationships at all organizational levels within customer companies.
  • Participate in industry trade shows, conferences, and visits to Kemin headquarters or abroad.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in a related scientific, business, or similar field.
  • At least 3 years of industry-specific sales experience.
  • Valid driver’s license with an insurable record.
  • Experience in technical or industrial sales with in-depth product knowledge.
  • Strong presentation skills.
  • Understanding of Kemin products and the marketplace.
  • Motivated, proactive, and eager to contribute.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and CRM systems.
