Qualifications

• Catholic background with Franciscan spirituality preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in ministry, theology, or related field.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with friars, staff, and volunteers.
• Experience planning retreats and programs is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plan, develop, and sponsor programs for Teens and Adults.
• Coordinate yearly retreats and programs on the calendar.
• Recruit and schedule presenters; manage stipends and reimbursements.
• Summarize evaluations and share with staff.
• Serve as liaison with presenters, schools, and Archdiocese regarding background checks.
• Collaborate with marketing for program outreach and materials.
• Support staffing, fundraising, and special events.

Objective of Position: The Associate Director supports the mission and ministry of Mount Saint Francis Center for Spirituality through the coordination, development, and facilitation of retreats, programs, and spiritual formation opportunities. This position combines program leadership, hospitality, collaboration, and hands‑on facilitation — ensuring that every guest experiences the Franciscan spirit of welcome and renewal that defines Mount Saint Francis.

Essential Responsibilities

1. Programming
   • Plan, develop, structure, and sponsor programs aimed at Teens and Adults
   • Plan and develop yearly retreats and programs on calendar with staff
   • Recruit, vet, and schedule appropriate presenters as needed for presentations
   • Request stipends and reimbursements to staff and presenters
   • Summarize evaluations and distribute to staff and presenters
   • Serve as lead contact for inquiries for sponsored programs
   • Serve as liaison between the Center and presenters on contract
   • Serve as liaison with Catholic high school retreat leaders
   • Work directly with the Archdiocese regarding Safe Parish & Background Checks
   • Work directly with Lead Teams Course Facilitator for programming and groups
   • Coordinate volunteer ministry with Office Manager
   • Supervise members of staff in conjunction with Director
   • Assist Director with staffing, programming, and fundraising as needed
2. Marketing
   • Work closely with the Marketing & Communications Director on all media outreach and advertising going out from the retreat center
   • Submit all media outreach to Director for publishing approval
   • Coordinate with Marketing & Communications Director to prepare program brochures for distribution
   • Coordinate the production and purchasing of program materials
   • Develop and implement marketing strategies for sponsored and outreach programs
   • Serve as Grant Writer for new and existing needs at the center
   • Collaborate with lay volunteers during Special Events, such as the MountFest, Raffles, and Summer Camps
   • Assist with bi-annual raffles

Qualifications

• Catholic who will bring breadth of experience with diversity and inclusivity
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent with understanding and experience in spirituality, particularly the Franciscan tradition
• An understanding and appreciation for the charism and mission of the Conventual Franciscan Friars
• Work style consistent with the retreat and hospitality ministry
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Proficient computer skills
• Ability to establish and rearrange priorities
• Strong organizational skills
• Proficiency in developing, using and understanding budgets
• Ability to collaborate with coworkers in creating a teamwork environment
