General Description of Position
To assist the Assistant Manager and Retail Store Manager and leadership team with the day-to-day store operations and store performance to meet or exceed budget while operating in compliance with company standards, policies, and procedures. May supervise community service workers and volunteers on a limited or as-needed basis.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Ensure proper customer service to all donors and customers.
- Meet designated production guidelines.
- Participate in pricing, displaying, and selling store merchandise within price ranges established by Goodwill management.
- Assist in developing additional donors for the store.
- Maintain the interior and exterior of the store in an attractive manner.
- Occasionally balance cash register receipts, prepare daily bank deposits, and maintain records of store transactions.
- Use cash register to total sales and accept payments.
- Ensure proper rotation of all store merchandise.
- Manage store's loss control by monitoring customers and employees and reporting suspicious activity.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment in the store, processing area, and donation center.
- Attend regular store meetings and observe safety procedures and personnel policies.
- Act as a positive role model for employees, trainees, and customers.
- Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.
Qualifications
Must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Requirements include:
Education and Experience
Minimum: General educational background without high school completion, plus 0 to 6 months related experience and/or training, or equivalent.
Additional Information
- Frequent physical exertion and exposure to unfit donated goods.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Effective communication skills.
- Some computer knowledge is a plus.
- Ability to interact cordially with a variety of people and explain Goodwill's mission.
- Must be able to read, write, and communicate clearly in English.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including holidays, nights, weekends, and occasionally over 40 hours per week.
- Ability to function in a hectic environment with occasional high stress.
- Must take initiative and make decisions within policies.
- Observe and enforce safety policies.
- Knowledge of clothing, furniture, and household items.
- Ability to lift up to 35 pounds frequently and 50 pounds occasionally.
- Stand, walk, bend, stretch, and stoop for prolonged periods.
- Reliable transportation required.
