Pay Range

This range is provided by NYC Health + Hospitals. Your actual pay will depend on your skills and experience — discuss with your recruiter for more details.

Base pay range: $112,270.00/year.

Job Purpose

Provides therapeutic, diagnostic, and educational respiratory services for diverse patient populations across all care areas. Performs clinical assessments and adjusts care according to protocols, embodying the organization’s Service Standards.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Perform comprehensive patient assessments and review medical records to recommend and deliver appropriate therapy.
  2. Administer oxygen, aerosolized pharmaceuticals, and other therapies; set up equipment accordingly.
  3. Manage medical gas therapies including Oxygen, Heliox, Nitric Oxide.
  4. Operate and monitor mechanical ventilators, including advanced therapies like ECMO.
  5. Perform airway care procedures, including suctioning and artificial airway management.
  6. Assist with airway procedures under medical supervision.
  7. Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Graduation from an accredited Associate Degree program in Respiratory Therapy or equivalent.
  • Current license to practice as a Respiratory Therapist in New York State.
  • Current registration with the National Board of Respiratory Care.
Additional Notes

Practitioners licensed in NY since 1994 under grandparenting provisions may continue practicing until December 31, 1994, or until notified otherwise. Maintaining NY licensure is required for employment.
