Job summary

Providence Health and Services seeks an Associate Respiratory Therapist to join our team at Providence St. Patrick Hospital in Montana. You will collaborate with physicians and nurses to plan and implement patient care, and you may operate complex ventilatory support and monitoring devices within scope of qualification.

Completion of required orientation is mandatory. Montana license and BLS certification are required on hire, with CRT/RRT progression as specified.

Qualifications

  • Completion of department orientation and unit-specific orientation is mandatory.
  • Collaborate with Physicians and Nurses in planning and implementing the patient plan of care.
  • May operate and maintain complex ventilatory support systems and monitoring devices as qualified.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Physician with the delivery and direction of Respiratory Therapy.
  • Perform patient assessments and respiratory care procedures as required.
  • Support other patient care functions within scope of qualification.

Job description

The Associate Respiratory Therapist is expected to demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of contemporary Respiratory Therapy principles. The Associate Respiratory Therapist should be a solid performer who is fully competent in all aspects of his/her job description. He/she is expected to perform most job duties independently and in accordance with established departmental and hospital policies and procedures. He/She will collaborate with Physicians and Nurses in planning and implementing the patient plan of care. Completion of the department orientation program as well as unit-specific orientation, as required, is mandatory. This individual assists the Physician with the delivery and direction of Respiratory Therapy. She/He may be qualified by training and experience to operate and maintain complex ventilatory support systems, monitoring and resuscitation devices, respiratory care procedures and patient assessments, diagnostic procedures and oxygen therapy. Activities may also include other patient care functions for which he or she is qualified.

Required Qualifications:
  • Associate's Degree in AMA accredited school of Respiratory Therapy or
  • Bachelor's Degree in AMA accredited school of Respiratory Therapy.
  • Upon hire: Montana Respiratory Care Practitioner License.
  • Upon hire: National Provider BLS - American Heart Association.
  • CRT with less than 5 years' experience, must obtain RRT within 6 months of hire; Or
  • 5 years CRT and no RRT requirement.

The successful candidate's placement on the wage range for this position will be determined based upon relevant job experience and other applicable factors. These amounts are the base pay range; additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.
