Job summary

The Ang Lab at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai is seeking a highly motivated associate researcher to develop innovative spatial omics, imaging, and stem cell biology tools to explore cellular plasticity in health and disease.

Leveraging our recent successful efforts in developing a novel spatial epigenomics and advancing cortical neuron lineage studies, the role focuses on cutting-edge imaging and genome editing integration.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in science or related field preferred.
• Ideal candidate will have a BSc or MS in bioengineering, biophysics, stem cell biology, chemistry or a related field.
• 0-2 years of research/laboratory experience; experience with tissue culture, molecular biology techniques and bioinformatics.

Responsibilities

• Under direct supervision, conducts routine and standardized experiments using appropriate research techniques specific to subject matter of the research project.
• Analyzes and assists in interpreting laboratory results.
• Performs assays to support research studies.
• Maintains laboratory environment and assists in the upkeep of appropriate inventory; may include ordering of supplies.
• Logs and tests samples; prepares and submits laboratory materials and specimens for shipment.
• Assists in the collection, analysis and review of experimental data for publication and presentation.
• Performs other related duties.

Job description

The Ang Lab at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai is seeking a highly motivated associate researcher to develop innovative spatial omics, imaging, and stem cell biology tools to explore cellular plasticity in health and disease. Leveraging our recent successful efforts in developing a novel spatial epigenomics (Cell 2022) and generating a blueprint to obtain of cortical neurons via forced expression of transcription factors (PNAS 2024), we will develop advanced imaging and stem cell biology approaches, integrating with genome editing and screening methods, to understand cellular plasticity in health and disease.

Compensation Statement

The Mount Sinai Health System (MSHS) provides salary ranges that comply with the New York City Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $17.00 - $34.12 Hourly. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, education, and operational need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
