Description

We are looking for an enthusiastic and collaborative individual with strong expertise in cell culture, molecular biology, stem cell biology, and imaging. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on cutting-edge research in regenerative biology, contributing to a multi-institutional effort to advance therapeutic approaches for congenital heart disease.

Responsibilities
  • Perform advanced cell culture techniques, including maintenance and differentiation of pluripotent stem cells, cell sorting and various assays for cardiac function.
  • Execute experiments in molecular biology, including PCR, Western blotting, and cloning.
  • Conduct imaging-based studies utilizing confocal or other advanced microscopy techniques.
  • Collaborate effectively with team members across different disciplines and institutions.
  • Lead independent research projects under the guidance of the principal investigator.
  • Analyze, document, and present experimental results to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Contribute to publications and presentations at conferences.
  • Perform other related duties.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in science or related field, or combination of relevant research experience and education; Master’s degree in biology, biochemistry, molecular biology, or a related field preferred.
  • 0-2 years of research/laboratory experience.
  • The position includes weekend work.
  • Proven experience in cell culture, stem cell biology, molecular biology, and microscopy/imaging techniques.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills with an ability to multitask and meet deadlines.
  • A demonstrated interest in collaboration, teamwork, and the ability to independently lead research projects.
  • Enthusiasm for participating in an interdisciplinary effort to develop innovative therapies for single ventricle disease.
  • Prior experience in regenerative medicine, cardiovascular biology, or gene editing technologies.
  • Familiarity with data analysis tools (e.g., ImageJ, GraphPad Prism, FlowJo) and scientific writing.

Compensation

The Mount Sinai Health System (MSHS) provides salary ranges that comply with the New York City Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $16.5 - $34.12 Hourly. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, education, and operational need.
