Hanna Irie in New York seeks an associate researcher or research associate to advance translational cancer research on regulators of growth, survival and drug resistance in breast and other cancers. You will use genetic, cell-biological and in vivo modeling approaches, and collaborate on drug development with chemical biologists, employing PDX models and organoid cultures.
Background in cancer biology or immunology is required; postdoctoral MD/PhD or MD/PhD is preferred.
The associate researcher or research associate will be engaged in translational cancerresearch projects focused on regulators of growth, survival and drug resistance of breast and othercancers, as well as their microenvironment, including immune effectors. The researcher will use a broad range of approaches (genetic, cell biological and in vivo modeling) to understand how breast cancers resist chemotherapy treatments and metastasize. The projects also examine novel mechanisms that contribute to the growth and metastases of triple negative breast cancers. The researcher will engage in drug development efforts utilizing various screening strategies in collaboration with chemical biologists. The researcher will utilize patient-derived xenograft models of breast cancer and organoid cultures to screen and validate novel therapeutic strategies. The researcher will also study how the immune microenvironment regulates response of breast and other cancers to chemotherapy/targeted therapies. Background in cancer cell biology/models, genetics, molecular biology, biochemistry, or immunology required. Experience with mouse tumor models and related procedures (handling, tumor cell injection, flow cytometry, mouse surgical procedures, IVIS imaging) strongly preferred.
For postdoctoral fellow, MD, PhD or MD/PhD degree required. For associate researcher, minimum BA/BS degree, MA/MS preferred.
