An established industry player in biomedical research is seeking a highly motivated Associate Research Scientist to lead innovative research projects focused on the human immune system and Type 1 Diabetes. The laboratory of Dr. Megan Sykes in the Department of Medicine, CCTI, is seeking a highly motivated Associate Research Scientist to lead research projects focused on human immune system mice in Type 1 Diabetes and other immunological conditions. Responsibilities include designing, developing, and executing experiments, analyzing data, summarizing and presenting findings, and preparing reports and manuscripts.
100% of the Associate Research Scientist's time will be dedicated to research in the Sykes laboratory, conducting advanced studies on the human immune system.
This position is covered by a collective bargaining agreement between Columbia University and Columbia Postdoctoral Workers-UAW Local 4100.
Minimum Degree Required:
* Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree.
Minimum Qualifications:
* In-depth knowledge of laboratory equipment and research protocols.
* Ability to analyze and interpret research data routinely.
* Extensive experience with humanized mice.
* Ability to perform experiments and surgeries on mice.
Other Requirements:
* Self-motivated with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Strong organizational skills, ability to multitask, and work independently or in a team.
* Proactive attitude, attention to detail, and willingness to learn.
* Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Adobe Illustrator, Prism, FlowJo, and statistical software.
* Experience in handling and treating mice.
* Minimum of five years post-doctoral experience.
Preferred Requirements:
* Experience managing collaborative projects.
