Hyosung HICO, Ltd. in Memphis, TN, seeks an Associate Quality Inspector to perform in-process inspections and document nonconformances during manufacturing.

You will inspect using tools, read drawings, and support process improvements while following 6S and safety practices. Training and mentorship will enhance transformer knowledge in this role.

Qualifications

• High school or GED; trade or vocational training desired.
• Ability to read mechanical drawings.
• Basic computer skills for entering data.
• Knowledge of basic industrial measuring tools.
• Ability to read, write, and follow instructions.
• Ability to relate well with co-workers.
• Ability to use basic hand and power tools.
• Ability to work in confined spaces.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.

Responsibilities

• Perform inspection, test (chemical analysis), or measure materials for conformance to specifications.
• Document nonconformances in NCRs and inspection/test reports.
• Notify production supervisors of issues and assist in solving problems.
• Inspect using tools and equipment; compare results to specifications and document.
• Observe and monitor production operations; adjust processes as needed.
• Job shadow senior inspectors to learn inspection and transformer knowledge.
• Participate in training to enhance inspection and transformer knowledge.
• Practice 6S and adhere to safety rules and practices.
• Prepare parts or transformers for inspection and ensure a safe environment.

Hyosung HICO is seeking to fill an Associate Quality Inspector position. The ideal candidate will perform in-process inspections during the manufacturing process to determine the quality of parts, assemblies and sub-assemblies are meeting specifications. Professionally document nonconformances as they are found within manufacturing processes and products.

THE ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING:

• Perform inspection, test (chemical analysis), or measure materials, products for conformance to specifications
• Handling to documented information made by quality department. (e.g. NCR, Inspection/test report, etc.)
• Notify production supervisors and other personnel of production problems and assist in identifying and correcting the problems. Assist production personnel in solving minor problems and drawing interpretation as needed
• Perform inspections using tools, equipment, and instruments. Compare results to specifications and complete the necessary documentation
• Observe and monitor production operations and equipment to ensure process and product conformance to specifications and make or direct necessary adjustments
• Job shadow more senior inspectors to learn and enhance inspection and transformer knowledge
• Participate in any training provided to further enhance inspection and transformer knowledge
• Practice 6S and adhere to all safety rules, guidelines and safe working practices
• Prepare and execute parts or transformer for inspection and prepare a “safe” environment for inspection
• Using available inspection/test procedures and data to set up, inspection/test and assist in the evaluation of the electrical and mechanical performance of each transformer unit
• Support and make recommendations to improve Hyosung HICO's policies and procedures
• Further the goals and positive, professional image of the Quality Department
• Know Hyosung HICO’s Quality and Environmental Policies. Be able to fully discuss the importance of these policies and how they impact work

EDUCATION/SPECIAL SKILLS/EXPERIENCE/TRAINING:

• High school or GED; Trade or vocational school degree desired Intermediate mechanical or technical skills
• Ability to read and understand mechanical and technical drawings
• Developed computer skills for entering and retrieving data Developed verbal and written communications skills
• Knowledge and use of basic industrial measuring tools needed
• Ability to read, write, and follow instructions
• Ability to relate well with co-workers
• Ability to use basic hand and power tools

• Ability to work from heights, ladders, scaffolds, and elevated platforms
• Ability to stand and walk 6-8 hours per day
