Associate Quality Engineer - Wadsworth, OH

Job Overview

The Associate Quality Engineer will provide Quality Assurance, Quality Systems, and Supplier Quality support for the MOV Block plant (Wadsworth, Ohio). Also, will provide laboratory testing services such as mechanical, environmental, high-voltage, high-power, and continuous current testing to Hubbell Arrester business unit. Typical products tested are MOV (metal oxide varistor) blocks.

Responsibilities
  • Monitor, audit, and evaluate production processes.
  • Perform product testing of MOV blocks using test equipment in an ISO 9001 certified laboratory.
  • Execute test plans according to prescribed methods and standards.
  • Write detailed test reports.
  • Provide technical support within the department.
  • Participate in maintenance, calibration, training, and other activities as assigned.
  • Manage calibration systems, tooling, and instrumentation.
  • Lead or participate in problem-solving activities for electro-mechanical and mechanical devices.
  • Engage in CAPA processes.
  • Participate in internal audits.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams on testing plans for product development, R&D, and changes.
  • Address issues related to control of nonconforming materials.
  • Work independently with initiative and drive.
Qualifications

Required

  • Minimum technical or associate degree or trade school certification.
  • Experience with electrical systems, power generation, automation, or product testing.
  • Experience with ISO 9001-2015 or similar QMS.

Preferred

  • Proficiency with Autodesk drafting and design tools.
  • Experience coding in Visual Basic, C, or similar languages.
  • Experience with Allen Bradley PLC programming.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and work with computers and related equipment.
