The Purchasing Analyst plays a critical role in supply chain and procurement operations, ensuring the organization maintains a competitive advantage through efficient and strategic purchasing practices. This position serves as a key liaison between the organization and its vendors, driving sourcing strategies, cost optimization, and supplier performance.
Essential Duties
- Analyze purchasing data, vendor performance, and market trends to identify cost-saving opportunities and forecast inventory needs
- Assist buyers and procurement teams by preparing purchase orders, reviewing requisitions, and managing supplier contracts.
- Conduct cost analysis, validate pricing, and ensure compliance with contracts and procurement policies.
- Monitor supplier obligations, evaluate performance, and negotiate favorable terms to optimize costs and service quality.
- Ensure all purchasing activities comply with company policies, QMS, federal and state regulations, and industry standards.
- Assist with developing sourcing strategies, participate in annual price reviews, and support supply base optimization initiatives.
- Analyze product profitability and sales data.
- Prepare reports for management review.
- Maintain supplier pricing and purchasing records.
- Assist with supplier and purchasing activities.
- Support inventory and spending analysis.
- Act as backup for Buyer
- Assist with special projects as assigned.
- Other duties as required.
QualificationsQualifications
- High school or GED
- College degree preferred
Training & Experience
- Two (2) years or more of experience in manufacturing preferrable in Medical Device environment.
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills to interpret procurement data and identify trends.
- Proficiency in ERP systems and tools for purchasing and contract management.
- Knowledge of procurement regulations, cost analysis methods, and supply chain processes.
- Effective communication and negotiation skills for interacting with vendors and internal stakeholders
- Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
