Job summary

Black & Veatch in Ann Arbor, MI, invites applications for an Associate Project Manager to support distribution engineering services, utility programs, and EPC projects nationwide. You will work with Project Managers, engineering teams, and leaders to deliver projects, grow skills, and advance within a growing distribution organization.

The team collaborates closely with engineering, operations, and business units to achieve high-quality results.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant experience.
• 3-5 years of project support experience in Engineering or related technical function.
• All applicants must be able to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements (criminal/civil background check, drug screen, motor vehicle records search).
• 2–5 years of experience in project management, project coordination, engineering, utility operations, construction, EPC, or related roles.
• Prior experience supporting electric utility distribution engineering, construction, operations, or EPC projects is strongly preferred.
• Strong organizational, communication, and collaboration skills.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Teams.
• Interest in developing a long-term career in project management within the electric utility industry.
• Experience supporting client-facing work or coordinating project teams preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supports planning, coordination, and execution of distribution projects.
• Assists Project Managers with scheduling, project controls, client communication, and coordination.
• Tracks budgets, quality, risk management, and deliverables.
• Schedules meetings, prepares agendas, action items, and client reports.
• Maintains alignment on scope, priorities, acceptance criteria, and changes.
• Supports proposal development and business growth initiatives.
