Job summary

CBRE Group, Inc. in Cincinnati is seeking an Associate Project Manager to assist project management teams on infrastructure projects, with direct accountability for project delivery. This is a full-time onsite role based in Cincinnati, OH.

You will support budgeting, scheduling, procurement, quality and risk, read contracts and drawings, collaborate with clients, coordinate resources, and help manage change, risk and reporting to keep projects on track.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree preferred with 2-5 years of relevant experience.
• Experience supporting commercial construction projects is preferred.
• In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook) and MS Project is helpful.
• AEC experience preferred and should include construction project management, owner's rep, or PM for commercial projects including knowledge of MEPF design and construction.
• Ability to read architectural drawings and understand leases, contracts, and construction practices is helpful.
• Understanding of procedures to solve problems and apply judgment and precedents.
• Strong interpersonal skills with an inquisitive mentality.

Responsibilities

• Assist Managers in budget, schedule, procurement, quality & risk for projects from planning to closeout.
• Read and apply standard documents affecting projects, including contracts, leases and charters.
• Collaborate with clients to define project requirements; prepare scopes, budgets, work plans and milestones.
• Support commissioning and startup activities aligned with milestones.
• Identify resources, conduct simple RFPs, perform bid analyses and recommend resources.
• Implement communication plans and facilitate project meetings with stakeholders.
• Implement change management and assess impacts to scope, budget and schedule.
• Apply risk management routines to identify risks and develop mitigation plans.
• Track progress, report variances, and craft action plans to meet objectives.
• May lead smaller projects and mentor team members.

About the role

The Associate Project Manager will assist Project Management teams on infrastructure projects, with direct accountability for project delivery.

This is a fulltime onsite position 5 days per week in Cincinnati, OH to regularly monitor and supervise ongoing construction projects.

What you’ll do

• Assist Managers in all facets of project management (budget, schedule, procurement, quality & risk) for individual projects including planning, design, construction, occupancy and closeout.
• Demonstrates capability to read, understand and apply standard documents affecting projects, including but not limited to: agreements/contracts, leases, work letters, project charters, surveys and drawings.
• Collaborate and work directly with client to define project requirements. Prepare scopes of work, project delivery resource requirements, cost estimate & budget, work plan schedule & milestones, quality control, and risk identification.
• Support commissioning and startup activities in alignment with project milestones.
• Identifies project resources from pre-qualified lists; conducts simple request for proposals and completes bid analysis with your management's support. Recommends resources to clients.
• Implement communication plans for meetings and written reports/meeting minutes to keep client and project resources advised. Facilitate project meetings.
• Implement change management routines to assess change requests, make recommendations, secure client approvals, and issue change orders. Assesses change requests to confirm and resolve impacts to scope, budget, schedule, quality and risk with your management's support.
• Implement standard risk management routines with management support, to identify project risks, develop risk mitigation and contingency plans, and implement action plans to reduce or eliminate project risks.
• Track progress of each project against goals, objectives, approved budgets, approved timelines. Reports status and variances. Crafts action plans to meet objectives, budget and schedule.
• May manage smaller projects as assigned. Lead project delivery resources/team (typically smaller team) and provide mentorship and direction to achieve project goals.
• Other duties as assigned.

What you’ll need

Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States without the need for visa sponsorship now or in the future.

• Bachelor's Degree preferred with 2-5 years of relevant experience. Instead of a degree, a combination of experience and education will be considered.
• Experience supporting commercial construction projects is preferred.
• In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products. Examples include Word, Excel, Outlook, etc. Working understanding in MS Project is helpful.
• Previous AEC experience preferred and should include construction project management, owner's rep, or project management experience for commercial projects including knowledge of MEPF system design and construction.
• Ability to read and understand architectural drawings and knowledge of leases, contracts, and construction practices is helpful.
• Understanding of existing procedures and standards to solve slightly sophisticated problems and the ability to analyze possible solutions using technical experience to apply appropriate judgment and precedents.
• Strong interpersonal skills with an inquisitive mentality.
