Job summary

Siemens in Abilene, TX seeks an Associate Project Manager to coordinate and deliver multiple projects of varying complexity. You will manage schedules, costs, subcontractors, and project documentation to ensure on-time delivery and customer satisfaction.

Basic qualifications include an associate degree and knowledge of NFPA fire alarm codes. A bachelor’s degree is preferred and NICET certification is a plus. Valid US work authorization and a clean driving record are required.

  • Knowledge of local and national NFPA fire alarm codes and regulations.
  • Must be 21+ with a valid driver's license and eligible for Siemens’ fleet vehicle program.
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

  • Review project specifications, drawings, and documents to establish project intent.
  • Develop and maintain a project schedule and coordinate needs with the team.
  • Manage the requisition of supplies and materials to complete projects.
  • Review plans and specifications and participate in cost reviews.
  • Assist the Operations Manager in subcontractor contracting.
  • Provide project documentation including scope, drawings, specifications, and contacts.
  • Track resources and project progress; document schedule-impacting events.
  • Pursue change-order opportunities; coordinate billing with Accounting.
  • Schedule commissioning resources and ensure proper documentation.
  • Expedite return of markups for as-built development and complete close-out docs.
  • Adhere to safety policies and report unsafe conditions.

An Associate Project Manager at Siemens is responsible for the coordination and delivery of multiple, simultaneous projects of varying complexities. For projects with a financial impact of less than $100K, the Associate Project Manager holds fiscal cost reporting responsibilities for all project facets, including project billing, job responsibility, and overall customer satisfaction.

As the Associate Project Manager, you will:

  • Review project specifications, drawings, and project-specific documents to establish project intent.
  • Develop and maintain a project schedule and coordinate needs with the project team, identifying time-sensitive installation requirements.
  • Manage the requisition of supplies and materials to complete projects.
  • Review plans and specifications and participate in project cost reviews.
  • Assist the Operations Manager in the solicitation and contracting of subcontractors.
  • Conduct orientations for project technicians and provide comprehensive project documentation, including scope of work, drawings, applicable specifications, application-engineered drawings, and project contacts.
  • Track resources and project progress.
  • Document project events that impact the schedule, scope of work, and project efficiency.
  • Pursue project-specific change-order opportunities.
  • Coordinate and pursue project-specific billing, collaborating with the Accounting team and Operations Manager.
  • Schedule project-specific commissioning resources and provide commissioning documentation.
  • Expedite the return of project-specific mark-ups for as-built development.
  • Complete project-specific close-out documentation.
  • Adhere to local, corporate, and OSHA safety policies and procedures, and report unsafe conditions and actions.

You will make an impact with these qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:

  • Associate degree
  • Technical experience in the commercial fire and life safety industry
  • Must be able to demonstrate knowledge in local and national (NFPA) fire alarm codes and regulations
  • Must be 21 years of age and possess a valid driver's license with limited violations; must meet eligibility requirements to participate in Siemens’ fleet vehicle program
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorship

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Mechanical or Electrical Engineering degree
  • 3+ years of technical experience in the commercial fire and life safety industry
  • NICET Level II or higher certification in Fire Alarm Systems preferred

The pay range for this position is $55,264 - $94,738 annually with a target incentive of 5% of the base salary. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location.
