The Department of Cell and Molecular Biology at Rowan-Virtua SOM invites applications for an Associate Professor position focusing on cellular and molecular mechanisms of chronic human disease. The candidate will lead an independent program and engage in translational biology and interdisciplinary collaboration within Rowan University.

Qualifications

• A PhD, MD, DO or equivalent doctoral degree in a relevant biomedical discipline.
• An established record of independent and productive research in cell and molecular biology or mechanisms of disease.
• A strong record of peer-reviewed publications and scientific contributions appropriate for appointment at the Associate Professor level.
• A demonstrated history of extramural research funding and evidence of the ability to sustain an externally funded research program.
• Evidence of effective mentorship and a commitment to the education and professional development of graduate, medical, or postdoctoral trainees.
• A demonstrated ability to contribute to collaborative and interdisciplinary research programs.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a vigorous, externally funded independent research program and publish high-impact scholarly work.
• Mentor graduate students, postdoctoral fellows, and other trainees; contribute to education; participate in service and interdisciplinary collaborations.
