Associate Professor of Neurology (Institute for Technology and Medical Systems)

The University of Southern California (USC), founded in 1880, is the largest private employer in the City of Los Angeles. The USC Institute for Technology and Medical Systems (ITEMS) is a joint Keck-Viterbi initiative aimed at bridging engineering and medicine to advance bioengineering, electronic systems, and neuroscience. ITEMS seeks exceptional candidates for the Associate Professor position, focusing on behavioral experimentation, cognition analysis, implantable neurotechnologies to modulate neural networks, multielectrode technologies for recording and stimulation, and tools to interrogate and influence neural circuits underlying cognition.

The primary responsibilities involve maintaining sustainable extramurally funded research programs. The successful candidate will have experience in designing, submitting, executing, and managing research projects, conducting studies, translating measurements into peer-reviewed publications, developing grant proposals, and delivering technical presentations both within and outside the university.

Preferred Qualifications:

The annual base salary range for this position is $200,000-$240,000. USC considers various factors, including responsibilities, experience, education, skills, internal equity, legal considerations, grant funding, and market conditions when extending offers.
