Job description

Faculty are essential to Liberty University’s mission of Training Champions for Christ. It is expected that a faculty member models a personal commitment to the goals and values of Liberty University, engages in an active commitment to, and experiences personal spiritual formation within a biblically informed Christian worldview. Faculty should view their teaching, engagement with students, and scholarship as a means to a significant educational end and should strive to employ a variety of techniques for the development of good learning conditions, view each student as unique, and provide for individual differences, abilities, and interests.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Teach first‑year, upper‑division required, and elective classes.
  • Engage in scholarship.
  • Mentor students.
  • Provide timely feedback in the form of assessments, grading, and other requested formats.
  • Follow guidelines, policies, and procedures as outlined in the faculty handbook.
QUALIFICATIONS AND CREDENTIALS
  • J.D. degree from an ABA accredited law school.
  • Recognized academic and professional background.
  • Clear demonstration of commitment to the mission as evidenced by past scholarship.
  • Excellent teaching, scholarship, service, and ability to work as part of a team.
  • At least three years of prior law school teaching experience or at least seven years of practice experience.
  • Commitment to student mentoring and professional development.
  • Enthusiasm for working with law students.
