The physician‑scientist will have the opportunity to:

  • Develop and sustain an independent, externally funded research program in pediatric nephrology or a related area.

  • Pursue innovative basic, translational, clinical, or population health research relevant to kidney health in children.

  • Participate in clinical care within Pediatric Nephrology, with opportunities for both inpatient and outpatient practice.

  • Contribute to the continued development and expansion of Pediatric Nephrology clinical and research programs at UTMB.

  • Participate in teaching and educational activities for medical students and pediatric residents.

  • Provide academic and clinical leadership commensurate with rank and experience.

UTMB offers a highly collaborative academic environment with extensive opportunities for interdisciplinary investigation. The institution has more than 10 research centers and three institutes, as well as the Galveston National Laboratory, providing opportunities for collaboration across basic, translational, and clinical research programs.
