Qualifications

• MD or DO degree from LCME or COCA accredited medical school.

• Board Certification in Pediatrics and Pediatric Hematology & Oncology.
• Ability to obtain unrestricted State of Texas Physician License.
• Current U.S. DEA Practitioner registration.
• U.S. Citizenship or Employment Authorization to work in the U.S.
• Demonstrated commitment to patient care and medical education.
• Demonstrated clinical and/or basic science research productivity.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Department of Pediatrics at the University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB) John Sealy School of Medicine in Galveston is seeking a full-time Hematology & Oncology Physician-Scientistthe rank of Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor. This is a unique opportunity to join a nationally recognized academic health system and a collaborative team of clinicians and researchers.

This position offers the opportunity to engage in clinical care, contribute to the education of pediatric residents and medical students, and develop a productive funded research program.

Position Overview:

This full-time academic role combines clinical care, teaching and research within a collaborative health system. The successful candidate will:

• Join a multidisciplinary team to support the institutional clinical, educational and research missions.
• Provide comprehensive pediatric hematology & oncology care across inpatient and outpatient settings.
• Teach and mentor medical students, residents, and fellows.
• Lead the development of a clinical and/or basic research program within the Department of Pediatrics.

Qualifications:

Required

Income Package:

Salary will be commensurate with academic rank, qualifications, and experience.**The position includes a provision for dedicated research time.**
