Qualifications

• Ph.D. Biochemistry, Biology and/or equivalent area required.
• Demonstrated knowledge and application of scientific techniques.
• Experience running a lab with funded research and supervising postdocs.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to work with diverse constituencies.
• Computer literacy.

Responsibilities

• Manage postdoctoral fellows and supervise research projects.
• Supervise interns, undergraduates, and graduate students in collaborative research.
• Lecture or demonstrate and teach across UM schools as needed.
• Collaborate with faculty within the department and with Sylvester Cancer Center researchers.
• Develop and submit grant proposals; write scientific papers and abstracts.
• Lead regular lab and research team meetings.
• Develop collaborations within and outside UM to advance research and education.
