Primary Function of Organizational Unit

The primary purpose of the Department of Psychology is to provide undergraduate and graduate students rigorous training in the understanding of human behavior using scientific methods, and to provide students with the competencies, knowledge and skills sufficient to: (1) qualify for graduate/doctoral studies in psychology and the behavioral sciences and; (2) qualify for a range of human service positions that require the application of psychological or behavioral science methods and skills.

Primary Purpose of Position

The primary purpose of this faculty position is to teach in the undergraduate and/or the graduate programs, serve as an advisor, conduct research, engage in service to the unit, and contribute to the development of the Department of Psychology.

Required Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

• Licensed psychologist
• Ability to teach undergraduate courses and applied courses in the clinical concentration of the graduate program; supervise students on practicum; conduct research; serve as a thesis advisor in the graduate program

Minimum Education/Experience

Licensed psychologist and able to teach the applied courses in the Clinical

Concentration of the graduate program and supervise students on practicum. Ph.D. Masters

Licenses or Certification required by Statute or Regulation

Licensed Psychologist/licensable in North Carolina
