Job summary

Flex, a leading diversified manufacturing partner, seeks an Associate Production Supervisor in Columbia, SC. This role oversees multiple production lines in a highly technical setting, ensuring efficiency, quality and timely delivery.

You will coordinate with engineers on improvements and coach operators to elevate performance. Successful candidates will have a Bachelor's degree or equivalent with 3 years of manufacturing and supervisory experience, plus familiarity with electrical components

Qualifications

• 3 years of supervisory or lead experience.
• Experience with electrical components.
• Experience with ERP systems (Kronos preferred).

Responsibilities

• Lead production of several processes/lines in a technical environment and be responsible for the line's success.
• Evaluate daily plant operating performance and advise on changes to improve efficiencies and quality.
• Lead a team of professionals in the industrial electrical dept to meet quality, cost, delivery and responsiveness goals.
• Troubleshoot and analyze operational problems and coach operators to improve performance.
• Collaborate with engineers to develop project proposals for plant improvements.
• Provide technical and operational advice to project teams.
• Interface between operations and maintenance when needed.
• Participate in training and coaching of junior operators.
• Prioritize production schedules based on product introduction, equipment efficiency and material supply.
• Participate in process development and cost-improvement projects.
• Assist in department budget planning and management of expenses.
• Maintain safe and clean work environment and ensure compliance with policies.

Associate Production Supervisor (Columbia, SC)

First Shift: 7:00 AM- 3:30 PM

What a typical day looks like:

• Leads the production of several processes/lines in a highly technical environment and responsible for the line’s success.
• Evaluates daily/regularly plant operating performance and advises on changes in operating conditions that will improve efficiencies and quality.
• Lead a team of individual professionals in the industrial electrical dept to meet quality, cost, delivery and responsiveness requirements.
• Troubleshoot and analyze operational problems and advise on their resolution. Guide regular discussions with operators to coach performance and improve operational understanding and capability.
• Solicits and evaluates ideas for plant improvements and collaborates with qualified engineers to develop project proposals.
• Provides technical and operational advice to project teams.
• May act as principal interface between the operation team and the maintenance function.
• Engage in training and coaching of junior operators.
• Prioritizes production schedules based on product introduction, equipment efficiency, and materials supply in order to meet customer requirements.
• Initiate and participate in process development and cost improvement projects.
• Assist in department budget planning and management of department expenses.
• Maintains safe and clean work environment by educating and directing individuals on the use of all control points, equipment, and resources; maintaining compliance with established policies and procedures.
• Ensures compliance to manufacturing standards.

The experience we’re looking to add to our team:

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent 3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment or in similar role
• 3 years of Supervisory or Lead experience
• Experience in electrical components
• Experience with Microsoft Excel
• Experience with ERP Systems (Kronos preferred)

Work Environment

The employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, work that requires repetitive motion, toxic or caustic chemicals, and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
