Job summary

MilliporeSigma in the United States seeks a laboratory operations professional to support manufacturing quality, perform routine assays, and maintain equipment. You will prepare reagents, restock supplies, and keep quality records in a glass-lab and large-scale process setting.

Required are a life-sciences/engineering degree or equivalent experience, strong chemistry and math skills, and safety-conscious handling of chemicals. 12-hour day shifts apply, with a 2/2/3 schedule.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biology, Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related Life Science/Engineering field; OR High School Diploma with 4+ years’ chemical production/lab/engineering experience.
  • Strong chemistry and math skills; experience with chemical production on glassware scale; familiarity with lab instruments and production equipment.
  • Experience in independent chemistry research lab or industrial settings; knowledge of process techniques and unit operations; familiarity with analytical techniques.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and safe chemical handling practices.

Responsibilities

  • Perform operations to meet quality expectations throughout the manufacturing process.
  • Perform routine assays, processes and/or unit operations.
  • Support lab functions: maintain equipment, prepare reagents, restock supplies, dispose waste.
  • Provide accurate records per quality guidelines and participate in quality audits.
  • Ensure logbooks are completed as required.
  • Identify process improvement opportunities and support change control procedures.
  • Assist with training.
  • Work in both large-scale and glass lab environments.

Your Role:
  • Perform operations to meet quality expectations throughout the manufacturing process.
  • Perform routine assays, processes and/or unit operations.
  • Contribute to support functions of the lab (e.g., maintain equipment, prepare reagents, restock lab supplies, waste disposal).
  • Provide complete and accurate records consistent with quality guidelines. Participate in quality audits.
  • Ensure all applicable logbooks have been filled out completely.
  • Improve processes through application of scientific knowledge, experience, and principles while in compliance with change control procedures. Identify opportunities for process improvement.
  • Assist with training.
  • Work in both a large-scale process environment and a glass lab environment.
Shift/Hours:

12-hour day shift, 6:00 AM - 6:30 PM - 2/2/3 schedule (M/T on, W/R off, F/S/S on, M/T off, W/R on, F/S/S off, repeat).

Physical Attributes:
  • Wear appropriate PPE.
  • Lift up to 50 lbs.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry, Biology, Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or other Life Science or Engineering discipline.
  • OR
  • High School Diploma or GED and 4+ years of work experience in a chemical production, laboratory or chemical engineering role.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Strong chemistry and math skills.
  • Experience with chemical production on the glassware scale.
  • Experience with laboratory instruments and production equipment.
  • Experience in an independent chemistry research lab or industrialexperience.
  • Experience with process techniques and unit operations.
  • Experience in analytical techniques and equipment.
  • Experience withsafe chemical handling methods.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

RSREMD

Pay Range for this position - $27/hr-$48/hrThe offer range represents the anticipated low and high end of the base pay compensation for this position. The actual compensation offered will be determined by factors such as location, level of experience, education, skills, and other job-related factors. Position may be eligible for sales or performance-based bonuses.
