General Description Of Position

To participate in the day-to-day plant operations to meet or exceed production standards while operating in compliance with company standards, policies, and procedures.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Reaches production guidelines and standards by sorting, processing, or hanging donated goods.
  • Assists in developing additional donors for the agency.
  • Ensures the proper rotation of merchandise.
  • Participates in the agency's loss control efforts by reporting suspicious activity to a supervisor or the Loss Prevention Director.
  • Ensures a clean and safe environment in the plant by practicing good housekeeping practices.
  • Regular attendance is required as outlined in Goodwill's attendance policy.
  • Observes safety procedures and Goodwill policies.
  • Attends regular employee meetings and training.
  • Acts as a positive role model for employees, participants, and donors.
  • May participate in new store building and renovation efforts as needed.
  • Performs any other related duties as required or assigned.

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

Education And Experience

Equivalent to four years high school or GED, with particular emphasis during high school in office skills, shop skills, or others, plus 0 to 6 months related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Mental alertness and adaptability to office and field work routines.

Additional Information

May involve travel within Arkansas during new store building and renovation efforts. Frequent physical exertion and exposure to unfit donated goods. Regular attendance is required. Must be able to interact cordially and productively with a variety of people. Must be able to market Goodwill and explain the mission to the public. Must communicate clearly in English. Must establish and maintain effective relationships with supervisors and coworkers, motivating them to perform their best. Must work a flexible schedule, including holidays, nights, weekends, and sometimes in excess of 40 hours/week. Ability to function in a hectic environment with high stress. Must take initiative, make decisions with little supervision, and enforce safety policies. Knowledge of fashionable clothing, furniture, and household items is required. Ability to lift up to 35 pounds frequently and 50 pounds occasionally. Able to stand, walk, bend, stretch, and stoop regularly.
