Role Description:

As an Associate Product Marketing Manager at myKaarma, you'll learn product marketing from the ground up by working alongside our Product Marketing Managers on real launches. You'll help create content, segment audiences, and prepare internal teams and customers for what's new, all while building a deep understanding of our industry, our product set, and how great product marketing gets done. We also want you to bring a fresh perspective: ask questions, challenge ideas and plans, and help us see things we might miss.

This role is designed as a launchpad. With the right growth, we expect you to be ready to step into a full Product Marketing Manager role within 18 to 24 months. It's a high-visibility position on a small, collaborative team, with hands‑on mentorship and real opportunities to contribute from day one.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Launch support: Help Product Marketing Managers plan and execute feature and product launches, including tracking timelines, managing checklists, and coordinating with cross-functional teams.
  • Content creation: Draft launch content such as release announcements, emails, in-app messaging, help content, one-pagers, and presentations.
  • Audience segmentation: Help identify which dealerships and users a launch is most relevant to, and tailor messaging and outreach accordingly.
  • Challenging ideas: Ask questions and share your perspective on launch plans, messaging, and assumptions, bringing a fresh set of eyes to how we go to market.
  • Enablement support: Help build and maintain training materials, FAQs, and talk tracks that prepare Sales, Customer Success, and Support for new features.
  • Adoption tracking: Help gather and report on post-launch adoption data, and learn how to turn results into recommendations.
  • Customer and market learning: Build your knowledge of the automotive service industry, dealership operations, our customers, and competitors through research, customer conversations, and time with internal teams.
  • Professional growth: Learn the full scope of a Product Marketing Manager's responsibilities, taking on greater ownership over time with the goal of leading launches independently.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Experience: No prior product marketing experience required. Internships, coursework, or early career experience in marketing, communications, business, sales, customer support, or a related field is a plus.
  • Skills: Proficiency in:
  • Clear, concise writing that explains ideas in plain, compelling language
  • Organization and attention to detail across multiple tasks and deadlines
  • Asking thoughtful questions and sharing ideas respectfully, even when they challenge the plan
  • Collaborating with and learning from people across different teams
  • Presenting ideas clearly to small groups
  • Using common workplace tools, such as Google Workspace
  • Knowledge: Basic understanding of, or strong interest in learning:
  • Marketing fundamentals, including audiences, messaging, and campaigns
  • How software companies sell to and support business customers
  • How customers discover, adopt, and get value from new products or features
  • How to research a market, customer, or competitor

Nice to Have Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, business, communications, or a related field; specialized Master’s degree is a plus.
  • Internship or project experience in marketing, product, or a B2B software company
  • Familiarity with HubSpot, Appcues, Google Workspace, Canva, Figma, or similar tools
  • Exposure to automotive retail, dealerships, or service-based businesses

How to Stand Out:

Here’s a scenario to illustrate the kind of thinking we value:

Q: "You're asked to write a short announcement for a new feature. As you read the product notes, you realize you're not sure who the feature is actually for or why they'd care. What would you do?"

We'd love to hear something like this…

A: "I wouldn't just start writing and hope it works. First, I'd do my homework by rereading the notes, looking at any customer feedback that led to the feature, and seeing whether we've launched anything similar before. If it's still unclear, I'd go to the Product Marketing Manager or the Product Manager with specific questions: Who is this built for? What problem does it solve for them? What should they do after reading the announcement? If the answers show the feature doesn't have a clear audience yet, I'd raise that, because it's better to catch it before launch than after. Then I'd write a draft built around the customer's problem, share it for feedback, and learn from the edits."

This approach reflects your ability to think strategically, ask the right questions early, and turn every launch into real customer adoption and success.

We know great candidates don't always match every requirement. If this role excites you and your experience aligns with many of the qualifications, we'd encourage you to apply. Skills can be learned—we also value curiosity, ownership, and a willingness to grow.
