Job Overview

The Associate Product Manager will be responsible for all related Product Management responsibilities for assigned product lines. Responsible for the development of a comprehensive go-to market strategy that maximizes profitable product line growth, new product development (NPD) initiatives, and overall product portfolio management. Provide all necessary product and technical support to the field sales team in support of the established sales and marketing plans. Drive market share growth through incremental New Product Development (NPD) programs and market-based pricing decisions. Responsible for establishing strategic and tactical initiatives in support of Connector Manufacturing Company (CMC) strategic business plan.

NOTE: This position is a hybrid role requiring 3 days a week onsite at our CMC facility in Hamilton, OH and 2 days per week from home.

A Day In The Life
  • Develop a comprehensive go-to market strategy for assign product lines.
  • Develop specific and measurable KPIs for assigned product portfolio
  • Active participation in the development of the annual CMC Strategic Plan for the assigned product portfolio
  • Profitability and Gross Margin management for the product portfolio
  • Monitor market/industry pricing trends, adjust as necessary to meet growth and margin objectives
  • Collaborate with the Field Sales team in establishing competitive pricing strategies to capture incremental business opportunities and/or maintain market share
  • Coordinate market intelligence and VOC gathering by leveraging sales teams and direct customer feedback
  • Responsibility for new product (NPD) generation and project management from inception to project completion
  • Develop a business case for each NPD Phase 1 project.
  • Responsible for the introduction of new products in accordance with CMC Strategic Plan
  • Responsible for developing and execution of a growth forecast for all assigned product lines
  • Initiate and execute a robust SKU Optimization strategy for the management and removal of non-performing products / product lines within the assigned product portfolio
  • Develop and maintain an up-to-date analysis (GAP Analysis) of all pertinent competitors
  • Provide technical information for product data manuals to Marketing and Advertising teams
  • Participate in the development of Advertising, Promotional, and Social Media programs in support of product sales objectives
  • Responsible for helping create literature, catalogs and promotional collateral
  • Travel with the local sales teams in support of product line and company growth strategies, attending industry trade shows and conducting online and in filed training session for both the field sales team and customers

  • Bachelor’s degree and related experience and/or training, with 2+ years of work experience.
