Job description

Title: Product Specialist/Jr. Product Manager

***Flexible Onsite - 1-2 days ideally***

Duration: 4-6 month contract-to-hire

PR: $30.00-35.00/HR

What You'll Do
  • Write and maintain user stories and acceptance criteria in Jira from direction the PMs give you - clear enough that engineering can build from them without a follow-up meeting.
  • Keep the Works and mobile backlogs clean: no duplicates, no stale tickets, no vague descriptions, statuses that reflect reality.
  • Prepare tickets ahead of grooming and sprint planning so those meetings are short.
  • Chase down the small unblocking details - a missing screenshot, an unanswered question in a comment thread, a dependency nobody linked.
Documentation
  • Own product documentation for maintenance and inspections in Confluence and Notion, and keep it genuinely current rather than technically existing.
  • Document how features actually work, including the edge cases and configuration options that trip up Support and Implementation.
  • Maintain the reference material the rest of the company relies on: workflow diagrams, feature matrices, decision logs.
Acceptance testing and release support
  • Test stories against their acceptance criteria before release and report what does not match, precisely and reproducibly.
  • File clean bug tickets: steps to reproduce, environment, expected versus actual, evidence attached.
  • Write release notes and help prepare what Support, Implementation, and Sales need for each release.
  • Run the intake pipeline for maintenance and inspection feedback - support tickets, CSM escalations, customer requests - and turn it into a deduplicated, categorized, evidence-backed queue the PMs can prioritize from.
  • Tag and link feedback so we can answer "how many customers have asked for this, and who are they?" in minutes rather than days.
Reporting
  • Maintain the recurring dashboards and reports for the product area - adoption, work order throughput, inspection completion, mobile usage.
  • Pull the numbers the PMs and leadership ask for, and be reliable about what they do and do not show.
What This Role Is Not
  • You will not own the roadmap or set priorities. The PMs decide what we build; you make sure it gets built accurately and documented properly.
  • A meaningful share of this job is careful, detailed, repetitive work. It is high-leverage and it is noticed - but it is not glamorous.
What We're Looking For

We care much more about how you think and work than about what is on your résumé. Specifically:

  • Relentless attention to detail. You catch the inconsistency in the spec, the edge case nobody mentioned, the field that should have been required. Sloppiness genuinely bothers you.
  • You learn fast and without hand-holding. Given a complex system and a week, you come back understanding it - and with a list of good questions.
  • Bias to action. You would rather draft something imperfect and get it reviewed than wait to be told exactly what to do. You close loops without being chased.
  • You write clearly. Most of this job is writing. Short sentences, no filler, unambiguous.
  • You are organized by default. You can hold thirty open threads without dropping one, and you do not need a manager to build your system for you.
  • You are comfortable with data. You can pull a number, sanity-check it, and explain what it does and does not prove.
  • You are steady in ambiguity. Priorities at a growth-stage company move. You adapt without needing the ground to stop shifting.
  • 0-2 years of professional experience in a role where being organized and accountable mattered - product or program coordination, implementation, QA or software testing, technical support, business or data analysis, operations, or consulting.
  • Strong recent graduates with substantive internship experience are welcome.
Nice to have - genuinely optional

None of the following are requirements. We would rather hire the sharpest, most driven person in the pool and teach them the domain:

  • Hands-on experience with Jira and Confluence.
  • Exposure to facilities operations, maintenance management or CMMS software, work order systems, or facility inspections.
  • Experience with K-12, higher education, municipal, or other public sector customers.
  • QA or acceptance testing experience, or experience with mobile and field-facing products.
  • Working knowledge of SQL, Figma, or Notion.
