You will also take on product owner responsibilities for a workstream, partnering closely with our Vestmark Outsourced Services (VOS) team to understand internal back-office operations and help build the internal efficiency tools. This is an excellent opportunity for a product professional looking to deepen their fintech expertise and grow within a collaborative, fast-moving environment. The role will be hybrid out of our Boston, MA office.

Key Responsibilities
Product Development & Roadmap Support
  • Contribute to the product roadmap by gathering and synthesizing input from customers, stakeholders, and data.
  • Document clear product requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria in collaboration with senior team members.
  • Conduct competitive research and user interviews to surface insights that inform product decisions.
  • Identify opportunities to unify user workflows across platform capabilities, incorporating AI-based functionality.
Product Owner Responsibilities
  • Own and maintain the product backlog for assigned workstreams, ensuring stories are well-defined, estimable, and ready for development.
  • Prioritize and sequence the backlog based on business value, dependencies, and stakeholder input, making day-to-day trade‑off calls and escalating larger scope decisions to senior leadership.
  • Write and refine detailed user stories, acceptance criteria, and definition of done, serving as the primary point of contact for engineering questions during a sprint.
  • Maintain epic- and release‑level tracking in Jira/Confluence, keeping status, risks, and blockers visible to cross‑functional partners.
Internal Operations & VOS Partnership
  • Work closely with the Vestmark Outsourced Services team to understand day‑to‑day back‑office operations
  • Translate operational pain points into clear problem statements and product requirements that support internal efficiency and automation initiatives
  • Partner with the Efficiency and Automation team and VOS leadership to prioritize and scope internal tooling investments
Cross‑Functional Collaboration
  • Work closely with Engineering, Design, Compliance, and Operations teams to support timely and high‑quality product delivery.
  • Act as a reliable liaison between business stakeholders and the development team, ensuring alignment throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Prepare and present clear product updates to internal stakeholders and team leads.
Execution & Delivery
  • Participate actively in agile development ceremonies including refinement, backlog grooming, and retrospectives.
  • Track product performance post‑launch and assist in identifying areas for improvement based on user feedback and metrics.
  • Support the team in managing scope and trade‑offs with guidance from senior leadership.
  • Apply artificial intelligence to expedite development execution and requirements writing in a responsible manner and aligned with company guidelines.
Regulatory & Compliance Awareness
  • Develop a working understanding of relevant financial regulations and compliance considerations as they apply to product features.
  • Partner with Compliance and Legal teams to ensure new features meet applicable standards.
Qualifications
Required
  • 2-3 years of product management experience, ideally within fintech, financial services, or a technology‑driven environment; experience acting as a product owner (backlog ownership, sprint ceremonies, acceptance criteria) is a plus.
  • Basic familiarity with investing or wealth management concepts such as account types, portfolios, or advisory services.
  • Exposure to agile methodologies and tools such as Jira, Confluence, or similar platforms.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to synthesize information and present it clearly
  • Eagerness to learn, take ownership, and grow in a structured and supportive environment.
  • Comfort partnering with internal operations teams to learn manual, process‑heavy workflows and translate them into product requirements.
Preferred
  • Experience contributing to a consumer‑facing digital product from discovery through launch.
  • Comfort working with data and metrics to support product decisions; basic SQL or BI tool familiarity is a plus.
  • Exposure to regulated industries or compliance‑sensitive product development.
  • Prior exposure to back‑office, operations, or business process outsourcing (BPO) environments.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Computer Science, or a related field.
