Job summary

Job description

A well-known specialty retail brand is looking for an Associate Product Developer to own the end-to-end sampling process across designated product categories. This is a hands‑on, cross‑functional role sitting within the Product Development team, working closely with Design, Merchandising, Raw Materials, and more.

What You’ll Do
  • Order and track sample yardage at a greige and color level within the PLM system
  • Own all sampling needs for assigned product categories, ensuring accurate and on‑time receipt of garment samples
  • Process vendor and supplier invoices for sample yardage and sample‑making costs
  • Keep consistent communication with vendors and suppliers, holding them to brand calendar timelines
  • Liaise between cross‑functional partners including Design, PD, Raw Materials, Print and Color, Marketing, and Merchandising
  • Attend weekly cross‑functional meetings and represent all sampling‑related topics
  • Maintain seasonal sample yardage cost and readiness reporting
  • Keep the seasonal sample tracker updated with readiness reporting ahead of key milestone meetings
  • Help build leadership dashboards with headlines and metrics for milestone meetings
  • Observe business processes, flag areas for improvement, and anticipate needs before they become problems
  • Manage physical samples: moving boxes (up to 30 lbs), hanging and arranging product, maneuvering rolling racks, packing samples for shipment
What You Bring
  • Bachelor’s degree in Product Development or a related field, or equivalent experience
  • 1-3 years of related experience (recent grads with solid internship experience encouraged to apply)
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Understanding of the product lifecycle in a retail setting
  • Basic garment construction knowledge
  • Basic PLM knowledge (Centric is a big plus)
  • Fabric knowledge is a plus
  • Ability to stay calm under pressure, juggle competing priorities, and be a genuine team player
